Developer Bootcamp 2014 : Day 2

Day 2 of the Developer Bootcamp Kerala started off with Breakfast at around 9:00AM.

Anush continued with the previous day’s Git session as there were some small issues with the internet connection the previous day.

We broke for tea and snacks around 11:00AM. Everybody got back soon enough because the next session was exciting – Building Firefox OS from Source. Praveen Sridhar, our own Firefox OS evangelist was on stage for some cool stuff. He started with an Introduction to Firefox OS, he covered the architecture of Firefox OS, the technologies used behind Firefox OS, how easy it was to hack Gaia, etc. He also gave an insight look into the different JavaScript libraries used within Firefox OS and how to work with them. The session was very informative and the participants was very keen on learning how to hack Firefox OS.

We broke for lunch at around 2:00PM.

After Lunch, we had a surprise event for the Mozillians. The new face and identity of Mozilla Kerala was revealed.

After the logo was launched. We had a Community Building session led by Gauthamraj Elango. He talked about the 5 pillars of the Mozilla community and how the community is built, etc. Deb gave some insights about how Task Forces are implemented within Mozilla India.

We had a random brainstorming session where we discussed various projects. Different possibilities to implement different ideas, how to contribute, how to attract contributors and developers to the community, etc. We finally concluded the Developer Bootcamp 2014 as usual – Photo session!
