Well… Are you thinking what Mozilla is doing at schools……….???
Don’t you know that Mozilla is old enough to just be in high school…??? (she’s just 15 years old… :P) but intellectually she’s way above that level. She only interacts with geeks and big people(bosses) of that kind… and she’s also a lazy girl too…. she doesn’t like schooling.
So that’s why we decided to take her to schools. Not to a single school but to lots of schools………… Simply because its full of FUN……….
The primary goal of the Mozilla2School project is to develop an awareness about web and related technology among school students.
But now, it has evolved a wide set of goals and responsibilities to achieve. First of all, thanks to the Mozilla Foundation for launching the Webmaker Party
The Mozilla2School project was launched for the first time in the history of Mozilla at St Berchmans Higher Secondary School (SBHSS), Changanassery, Kottayam, Kerala, India. This event was held on September 21, 2013 from 9.30AM to 12.30PM. Thanks to Jithin Sha for the coordination and support.
The event was attended by Mozillians Abin Abraham, Jithin Joji and Kumaresan C S
The main aim of the event is to give a general awareness to the school students about Mozillaand web technology.
Mozillian Jithin Joji took a session on Web Development, Hosting and Photoshop Design and Kumaresan C S took a session on QT App Development.
My duty was to introduce Mozilla to the audience, that was a bit of a tough job. Its wasn’t about talking to a audience, but to grab their attention was the major thing.
So I started very slow and grabbed the full attention of the crowd and gave a good introduction about the motto of Mozilla and also a glimpse through the products. The main attraction of the event was the introduction of the whole new Firefox OS with the help of the simulator.
After the session we took the feedback of the students, staff and from the school management. They just didn’t want to end it there… They want more and more.
This made us to release another version of Mozilla2School…..
(to be continued…)
