Celebrate this Winter with Code

Celebrate this Winter season with code, and feel the warmth of the coding. Mozilla Kerala brings Webmaker to Malabar (the northern part of Kerala).

Mozilla introduced its web literacy program “Mozilla Webmaker” in May 2012. The goal of Webmaker is to help millions of people using the web to make the web. With new tools to use, projects to create, and events to join, Mozilla aims to help the world increase their understanding of the web and take greater control of their online lives.

Webmaker Malabar PosterThe first Webmaker event in the Mabalar region. This event mainly focuses on introducing and familiarizing college students with building the Web, Firefox OS, Foundation framework, Thimble hacking, X-ray goggles, Popcorn video-making, etc.
And also to introduce various Mozilla Products to the participants.

After organizing several Webmaker events across the globe, now the Mozilla community is coming to Malabar in association with the Mozilla community in Kerala – Mozilla Kerala with its first Webmaker event in North Kerala. The event is organized at Sullamusalam Science College, Areacode, Malappuram on Monday, 16th December, 2013. Anyone who is interested to gain a deeper knowledge on the Web is welcome to register and attend. The event is planned as various sessions in parallel tracks so that even those without any knowledge in HTML or web technologies can find and attend interesting sessions. The event will cover an array of topics from the basics of HTML to the introduction to a new HTML based Firefox OS smartphone, which Mozilla introduced earlier this year. Another highlight of the event will be the presence of delegates from the local chapter of Wikipedia – the world’s largest public knowledge bank.

Those who are already familiar with web technologies such as HTML will be introduced to new tools with which they can use to work on projects at the event and later publish and showcase their creations.

Registrations are open until Saturday. There is no entry/registration fee, but due to capacity constraints, only those who get an official invitation from the organizers after registration can attend the event.
